Human Rights Education

Capacity Building Programme on Human Rights & Governance: IGSSS & WHH
Conducted training on “Governance and Rights Based Approaches” focusing on Human Rights with reference to conflict zones in India, especially in the context of Kashmir. The workshop focused on UDHR, Constitution of India, Panchayati Raj Institutions and Human Rights Institutions. The challenges of Panchayati Raj Act and upcoming elections were also dealt with. The workshop was for the staff of IGSSS in Srinagar. The project was funded by Welthungerhilfe (WHH) and European Union.

Human Trafficking and Preventive Mechanism
Session on Human Trafficking and Preventive Mechanism was facilitated at National Institute of Public Cooperation and Child Development (NIPCCD) to Protection Officers, ICDS functionaries and social workers from different states. The purpose of the session was to inform the participants on the issues related to trafficking, its implication, and the existing legal mechanisms related to trafficking.

Session on HIV/AIDS
Undertook session on HIV/AIDS in collaboration with SARD for the adolescent girl students of 10th & 12th standards at Hero Honda School, Daru Hera, Haryana. The topics covered were reproductive health, sex and sexuality, causes and prevention of HIV/AIDS. Participatory role plays and group exercises were used to educate and inform the participants.

Encouraging Volunteerism 
Conducted motivational talk and orientation programmes on developmental sector to volunteers. The essence of the talk was on the importance of volunteerism in society and encouraging the participants for the same. The program was organised by iVolunteers.
