Mapping, Baseline and Analytical Reports

Indentifying Children in Need of Care and Protection, and Juveniles in Conflict/Contact of Laws
A Mapping study was conducted to identify Children in Need of Care and Protection, and Juveniles in Conflict/Contact of Laws in the West and North West Districts of Delhi. Mapping of vulnerable children and concentration areas was produced by a team of research investigators. The study was undertaken for Plan India and four of its Delhi partners.

Assessing the situation of poor working women in the slums of Delhi
This assignment was carried out for CARE through the use of PRA tools to assess the overall living and working conditions of working women living in slums of Delhi along with the challenges and hardships that they face daily, their experiences and views on economic independence in a patriarchal society. 33 slums were selected for this assignment that covered all the four categories of slums in Delhi – authorized, unauthorized, jhuggi jhopdi clusters and urban village slums. iThought was also involved in the management of resources i.e. field researchers and translation of tools.

Community Development with focus on Women & Child Rights and Livelihood Security
An Analytical Baseline Report on Community Development, with focus on Women and Child Rights and Livelihood Security was prepared for Asha Deep Foundation in Delhi NCR. The report was prepared from Raw Field Data collected from seven villages of Uttar Pradesh, through SPSS.

Human Rights Intervention
Anchored a Baseline Study and prepared an Analytical Report for Human Rights Intervention for IGSSS & WHH for 50 villages in 3 administrative blocks (Pattan, Singhpora, and Sumbal) of Baramulla and Bandipora districts of Jammu & Kashmir which share their border with Pakistan occupied Kashmir. On the field, data collection was undertaken by the Srinagar IGSSS team. The purpose of the study was to find the existing status of people of conflict zone area in relation to their rights and entitlements.

Baseline Survey for analyzing the current scenario before launching the PDP programme.
A Situational Analysis was carried out for Mobile Crèches to understand Childcare Standards, Parenting Patterns and Factors Affecting Parenting needs of Young Children in 5 blocks of Trilokpuri, situated in urban Delhi. The purpose was to make a situational analysis of the Parents Development Programme for the communities and to see how the work that has been done so far with respect to Early Childhood Care and Development, how it can be improved and making recommendations to better the situation for the children in the area.

The purpose was to make a situational analysis of the Parents Development Programme for the communities and to see how the work has been done so far by with respect to Early Childhood Care and Development, how it can be improved and making recommendations to better the situation for the children in the area.

Gender based violence and abuse
A Baseline Survey was conducted for Save the Children on ‘Working with boys and young men to combat gender based violence and abuse’ in Sitamarhi District of Bihar. The purpose was to understand the attitude of the boys and young men (10-18yrs.) on gender equality and justice. The intervention outcomes would not only be related to the reduction of the incidences of these issues but also bring changes at attitudinal and behavioral level among the boys and young men in the community along with raising questions on the fundamental issues around gender justice.

Assessment & Empanelment of Organizations
Assessment and empanelment was conducted for a volunteering programme with the support of Joining Hands, New Delhi of over 20 Organizations in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh & Rajasthan working in the areas of health, education, environment, livelihood and community development for the placement of volunteers. This baseline study was conducted in the three areas to identify and evaluate credible NGOs for volunteer placement as well as listing down type of volunteers they required for their organisation development.

Pre-testing and Finalization of Baseline Interview schedule
Technical support in pre-testing and finalization of baseline interview schedule was provided for Plan India and Sambhunath Research Foundation, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. The same was prepared for a study that required conducting household surveys near Ganga Ghaat, Varanasi. Tools were prepared for both the studies. The purpose was to conduct a baseline survey of children and their families living on the banks of river Ganga and highlighting the kind of challenges that they face in their day-to-day lives.
